Step 1 Warm up

Hello，boys and girls. Firstly, I want to share something with you.  So can you   tell me what it is about? Now, please look at this picture. What can see in the      pictures? How about this part? Do you know what's in her body? Our earth is so   beautiful and important. But what's wrong with her? What should we do?  So today   our topic is about protecting the earth. 

Step 2 Warm up

1.看课文视频，找出小标题

Now try to find How to protect the earth.  Subtitles only. Do you find subtitles    about how to protect earth? Yes， you're right. We should save water, save energy,   save trees and do not use too much plastic. 

2.教授Save water

（1）Why should we save water?

Now let’s ***e to the first part save water. Please look at the blue part. Do you   know what this is? Yes it's water. Most of the earth is covered with water. So water   is useful? Do you know why? Because we drink water every day. Water is useful.    Because we use water to ··· Can you say something? We can use water to wash our   hands. We can use water to wash our face.We can use  water to brush our teeth. We    can use water to take a shower. We can use water to do many other things.

How about the other part?  What does it mean? In many places, there is not    much water. Now do you know why  we should save water? Water is useful. In     many places, there is not much water. 

（2）How to save water?

This part is about why. But how to save water? Now please open the book. Read  the passage by yourself and try to underline. Please pay attention to the phrase here：waste, reuse and save water. Here are three pictures. Can you match them? save    water that means we should turn off the tap after using it. Waste water means using too much water. Reuse water means we use water again. 

Now please discuss in pairs. Try to make a dialogue about reusing water as    much as possible. So this part is about how. 

3.自学课文，选择一个主题自行研读

（1）自行阅读，完成表格

So much for the topic save water. Here are three other parts. Can you learn  by    yourself ? Please choose one topic to learn by yourself. And try to finish the task on   the sheet.  Three minutes for you. Now it's your turn. 

（2）同质分组，讨论交流

Now try to share in groups. Please find your group and try to discuss. Please  pay attention: same color, same number and ***e to the same group. Then talk    about how to share. At the same time, please write down the key words and help to   finish the mind map on the blackboard.

Time's up. It's your turn to teach us. The group of saving energy. You can choose one way you like to share your ideas. Don't ***et to share your key words on the blackboard.

Let's ***e to the first sentence. Most of our energy ***es from coal and oil.   The picture means most of. But how about other parts? Maybe energy ***es from··· Solar energy，Wind energy，Hydroenergy and Nuclear energy. Another sentence  We should not drive so much. What else shall we do to save energy?For example, We can go to school by bus. We should turn off the ***puter after using it. We      should turn off the lights when we leave classroom. Thanks for sharing.

So how about group of saving trees? It's your time to share. And pay attention to  the phrase cut down. Look, the man is cutting down trees. 

C. Don’t use too much plastic 小组分享（分享观点，回答问题，板书思维导图）

How about the last group? Now let's talk about your opinion about using plastic. What do you think？Too much plastic is bad for the earth. So we can use paper bags  or glass bottles.

1.小组合作，完成作品汇报

We have known a lot about protecting the earth. But how to tell others to protect   the earth? You know, we have learn signs in U5 ，also we have learn how to make a poster in U6. So do you have any ideas? Great! We can design signs, we can      make a poster and we can give a speech. Or  Something else. Try to choose one way   and work in group of four. 

2.分享绘本

Here’s anther way, we can use picture books to tell others to protect the earth.   Let's have a look together.Please remember, we have only one else. So we should protect the earth. So much for today's lesson.
